Memorial Day H{ippity} Hop

I'd like to take a moment to thank all of the brave men and women who have served our country. For many of us it's a day of barbecues, beaches, lakes, boating and outdoor fun, but let us not forget what this day is really about! And for those of you who have loved ones serving now, thank you for the sacrifices that you and your families make for all of us! You are truly appreciated!

My project today is not a patriotic one but a layout of my beautiful niece on her First Holy Communion. I love this paper from the Shabby Green Door and thought it would be perfect for these photos. The stamps I used today are from Ippity's Now and Always and one from the Winter Release, Love in Return.

I wanted to participate in the Fun with Fabric Challenge for Moxie Fab World, so I made the flower with Love My Tapes brown gingham fabric tape and stamped the petal from Now and Always. After cutting the petal out, I inked it with Ranger Distress Ink and covered it with Alene's paper glaze, sprinkling it with Martha Stewart green glitter while it was still wet. For the flourish stamp, I colored it in with Copic Markers and then embellished it with a little Recollections "bling".

Self-Imposed Intervention

Welcome To My Unity Friends With Flair Post!

My card today ALMOST had October Afternoon Thrift Shop or Fly a Kite, BUT I forced myself to take a break from it as I was getting highly addicted! I kept staring at it, picking it up, touching it, but finally I told myself "STEP AWAY FROM THE OCTOBER AFTERNOON PAPER!" and grudgingly I listened!

I guess it wasn't so hard since I had a fresh new 6x6 pad of Cosmo Cricket Delovely to play with, so that softened the blow a bit!

I used my April Unity Kit of the Month and paper pieced the strawberry, then covered it with Alene's Paper Glaze. The little brown strip is from Bella Blvd and I used my Fiskar's Apron Lace punch for the decorative edge. I also used the pink gingham fabric tape from Love My Tapes (another new addiction-eep!) I had fun with this one and it was good to (temporarily) break my addiction with October Afternoon. Make sure to check out the list of everyone on the hop over at the Unity blog!

Hippity Hop with Fabric Tape

Hope it was a great weekend for you all! I went to the Scrapbook Expo in Somerset, NJ. It was like heaven! Scrapbooking and cardmaking supplies everywhere you turn! The guys from Love My Tapes had a booth there. I already LOVE their Washi Tape and adhesive and now they've added gorgeous new fabric tape to their store! See that pretty yellow gingham pleated ribbon on my card?! That is it! It's adhesive and so much fun to work with and they have it in all different colors and patterns! Everything's Rosy

Have you seen the new Amuse release, Everything's Rosy?! This is the first stamp I bought from Pat at One Little Spark and I am just loving it. I can see myself using this one over and over!

I started out with some light blue Memento Dew Drop ink, then inked the center and the edges with some brown chalk ink to give the image two different colors. The sentiment is from a Memory Box clear set that I've had for awhile and just used for the first time! I am trying to make a better effort of using what I have!

The pretty patterned paper is from the Capella 6 x 6 paper pad, also from One Little Spark. I love these small paper pads for cardmaking, they are so much fun to work with.

The ribbon is one I had in my stash from Michael's and it happened to match pretty well with the inks I chose.

Monday's {ippity} Hop!

I hope everyone had a great weekend! The weather here in New Jersey was BEAUTIFUL! I had so much fun inking up my new {ippity} stamps in between spending time with my family :) and working.

The first project I made was inspired by Stephanie's Fresh Idea Friday on the {Ippity} Blog. I made this as a magnet for my friend who is going through some family health issues right now and the sentiment is perfect for her situation.

I used October Afternoon DP and one of the sentiment stamp that I LOVE from Delightful Little Things. I stamped the sentiment and then colored it in with Copics.

The next one is a very simple card using the tree stamp from A Little Buggy and Thanks from the Simple Things and more October Afternoon. The border punch is Martha Stewart from Michael's. If you would like to purchase any of these stamps, click HERE to go to my {ippity} sales blog.

Friday Friends With Flair Blog Hop

So, does anyone else have a crafty hangover after all of the festivities yesterday for the {ippity} Spring Release?! Inspiration overload!!! There was so much eye candy to look at yesterday, my head started spinning, so I have to go back to the SCS gallery and take it all in again!
I made this card for the sketch challenge and thought I'd share it today since I (unfortunately) didn't have time to make anything else.

Hippity Hop

{ippity}'s Hippity Hop is the only reason I look forward to Monday's! Something to get me through the first day back into the work week!
I enjoyed my Mother's Day with my son and my husband. I had a relaxing morning doing a little bit of stamping, then on to the Irish Festival at the Seaport. After some fresh air and some shopping we headed to Naples for a late lunch/early dinner of pizza and eggplant rollatini~YUMMY!

Happy Two Year Anniversary to Unity! Friday Friends With Flair Blog Hop!

This past week has been so exciting with all of the celebrating going on in honor of National Scrapbook Day and Unity's TWO YEAR Anniversary! I felt so bad for all of the Unity peeps, during such a special week, their website and email was DOWN! Can you imagine?! We rely on technology so much and don't realize it until there is a glitch and in this case it was a MAJOR glitch! Make sure to stop by and show them some love after such a stressful week!
