Friends With Flair

TGIF!!!!
Today for the Friends with Flair blog hop, I am sharing two notecards using Ippity stamps, that will be part of a set to go with my CC&M Card Portfolio. I did just have this on my blog for the 365 challenge, but this is a closer look at two of the notecards. Gotta run! 6:30 am and I am late for my walk/run (my new daily ritual :) This is a big feat for me since I am NOT a morning person!
Hope you have a great start to your weekend!

Project Life

About a month or so ago, I discovered Project Life. I had heard of it before but never really paid much attention. Once I realized the idea behind it, I knew it was for me! I've been struggling lately with scrapbooking....for some reason I keep making cards instead, but I REALLY want to continue scrapbooking, so this little guy will know HOW MUCH I love him and will have lots of memories of his childhood!

I still plan on scrapbooking in the traditional way, but this is a way of keeping up a bit more with the every day and I'm so excited about it!
Thanks for visiting, your comments mean so much :) HUGS!~

365 Cards Challenge Blog

I came across this cool blog that has a new card challenge every day! How fun is that?!?! Click here and go check out 365 Cards!
Today's challenge is to use kraft paper and a nature theme. I used the Card Portfolio from Creative Cuts and More in kraft and some nature themed paper and stamps from Ippity to complete my project. For the life of me right now I cannot remember the paper manufacturer, but since it is so cute, I will update later with it!

Thanks for stopping by today :)

Good Friday Friends With Flair and April SFYTT

Since Unity is sponsoring April's Sketch For You To Try, I decided to play along! I always have great intentions of doing all kinds of challenges, but never seem to get around to them. However, since this one gives you a whole month, it was one I could definitely get to!

I used the 6x6 Memory Box Brioche paper pack I just got from One Little Spark~I just LOVE the colors and the patterns in this line. The little Making Memories hearts started out a mauve color, so I colored them with Copics to match better.
I did some heavy distressing with my scissor and then further distressed the edges with Antique Linen Distress Ink. The twine at the bottom was a gift from my friend Noelle and you can get your own by clicking HERE (great price and FREE shipping)! I distressed that a bit too with Antique Linen.
Last, but not least, the big GORGEOUS tea cup stamp is from Unity's December 2010 Kit of the Month and I love that the sentiment is built right in!
Thanks for coming by today, make sure to check out the Unity blog to see the full list of Friends with FLAIR!

P.S. Have you seen the April Kit of the Month? Cute cute cute!

Die Cut Divas

Come over and see me today at Die Cut Diva! I am sharing this layout using the Scallop Circle in kraft, love this die cut background, you can use it in so many fun ways! and Terry has EVERY color you could imagine! I stamped the background with Gurnsey Gingaham by Ippity (which was an afterthought which is why it's so messy!)
I used a variety of Unity stamps on this layout as well, the bunny up in the left hand corner is from the January 2010 Kit of the Month and the egg in the lower right hand corner is from the February 2009 Kit of the Month. The Memories journaling stamp is from the January 2011 Kit of the Month.
The flowers and birds are cut from My Little Shoebox Home Tweet Home, in stock at Paper Wings right now! The striped paper behind the Scallop Circle is also MLS Home Tweet Home!

What's On Tap Tuesday?!

I am joining the very talented Cindy (aka Scrapcollectr) aka the Crafty Frugalista (or as I like to call her, the Queen of the Tri-Shutter Cards!) this week over at her blog in sharing our work spaces. Here is her description of her new "What's On Tap Tuesday" taken from her initial blog post:

"I've been participating in a weekly blog hop based in the U.K. called What's on Your Workspace Wednesday. It's loads of fun but I'd like to bring it across the pond by starting a similar weekly hop called What's On Tap Tuesday? (WOTT?) I just think it would be fun to share what's going on on our desktops and/or in our lives each week. Maybe focus on a favorite tool or a daily adventure, as an example. Finished projects are not required but always welcome. Would you like to play? I'll have a Linky area every Tuesday so we can hop around easily. If I can get at least 20 interested bodies involved, I will just have to select a random person to get a little crafty RAK prize. Let's up the ante, too. I'll also post a question to consider answering in the comment field. Let's get to know each other better!"

So, here I go as I hang my head in shame over the mess I created!!! If you'd like to join in, Cindy has a Mr. Linky at the bottom of this post to share what you have on tap for this Tuesday!

In the above picture you see my bin of Copic Markers hiding in the background, I've been making an effort to use these again! Even though they scare me a little bit! I certainly have a big enough supply but since I haven't used them in awhile, I feel like I color like a Pre-Schooler! You will also see some Tim Holtz goodies, including the new Distress Stains I just got from Paper Wings, FUN STUFF and some Tim Holtz stamps in use!

Off to the right in this picture are some fun goodies I just received from Memorable Seasons in the mail including some Fancy Pants It's The Little Things buttons and design embellishments. Jill is awesome, she will hold your order until you accumulate $75.00, therefore free shipping! and she always runs great sales! So this order was a long time coming :)

Here are some paper scraps and two cards I made for an upcoming event at One Little Spark.

Another yummy stack of paper goodness!!!! This is Webster's Pages Ladies and Gents line and some My Little Shoebox that just arrived at Paper Wings!

And last but not least, I just had to include my latest Unity Kit of the Month!!!!!! It arrived in my mailbox a few days ago, very early this month which was a nice surprise!

Thanks for stopping by and why not join us for What's On Tap Tuesday?!?! Come on, show us YOUR workspace (aka mess!)

H{ippity} Hop Monday

For today's H{ippity} Hop, I made this cute little bird magnet using the birds from Ippity's Fall For You and the sentiment from Simply Home, along with some Girls Paperie.  The shape was die cut from my Stampin' Up Top Note Die and then I added a couple of magnet strips on the back. The doily is die cut from Papertrey Ink's Doily Details Collection, and the strip of vintage cream cardstock is embossed with Swiss Dots, then distressed with Ranger Antique Linen Distress Ink.

Thanks for stopping by today, make sure to visit Sarah, she is the next stop on the hop!

40th Birthday Belated Recap - Part I

My husband surprised me with a trip to New York City for my 40th birthday. I was so impressed, he made all the plans and arranged for a babysitter for the weekend all without me knowing.

This is me in the hotel lobby waiting for my husband to check us in. He sent me away, I should have been suspicious! So I entertained myself by taking my own picture while I was waiting!

He came back from the front desk and told me our room wasn't quite ready yet, so we went to the Pig and Whistle, the Irish Pub right next door (I know, how convenient is THAT!) We had a few beers and an appetizer.

When we finally went and checked into our hotel, SURPRISE!!!!!!!! My sister Sue and her husband Barrie, my best friend Stacey and her husband Jay, Audra, Kelly, and Glenn were all there having a party of their own waiting to surprise me!!!!!!!!!  I was greeted with balloons, gifts and a full bar in the room! Everyone had booked rooms in the same hotel and we were going to hang out together all weekend! I could not have been HAPPIER! My sister came up from West Virginia, and one of my best friends, Audra came up from Maryland to celebrate with me-her husband was home with the flu :(

After hanging out in the room a bit, we went to dinner at Patsy's (yum!)

Then on to a Comedy Show!

In a cab back to our side of town! Our hotel had a club in the lobby, we checked it out a bit, but then wound up back at the Irish Pub (that's more our style!)  We had met a really cool couple there earlier , they were back for more fun too so we wound up hanging out and dancing with the wife. She was a dark haired, green eyed Irish girl visiting from Dublin and her name was Sinead. Very bazaar because my cousin in Ireland that we are very close to is a dark haired, green eyed Irish girl named Sinead!

Just a picture of our hotel room, VERY New York, small and chic!

I will be back with more from our adventures the next day!

Believe You Can Fly

I tried something a little different on this card. I started with a 5 1/4 x 4" base and covered it with Tim Holtz tissue tape. Over the tissue tape I painted a layer of white airbrush paint. When that dried, I painted on some Coffee Shimmerz around the edges. I stamped the image from the Unity March Kit of the Month several times over the tape. I cut out a scallop from A Muse cardstock and embossed it to show some of the white core.
Then I stamped and cut out the butterflies, applied some stickles inthe middle and popped them up over the scalloped circle.
The sentiment is also from the March Kit of the Month.

Next stop on the hop is Joslyn with some awesome inspiration!

Thanks for visiting today!

Cherish Your Dreams

I love this Ippity stamp set, you've seen me use it before and I'm sure you will see me use it again :) I made the flower from coffee filters, inspired by Lynn. She makes beautiful flowers out of so many different elements and this is one idea I learned from her blog. I die cut the coffee filters with my scallop circles in two different sizes, sprayed with Gingerbread Glimmer Mist, let them dry and then crinkled them up. I stitched them together and added this beautiful brown resin flower from Maya Road. The Ippity images were stamped on PTI Vintage Cream cardstock, then inked with Antique Linen. The butterfly was colored with Copics and I embossed the oval frame with my Swiss Dots embossing folder.
Thanks for stopping by for this week's H{ippity} Hop. The next stop is Andrea with some Ippity inspiration for you!
