Pretty Princesses

I am sharing this layout over on Die Cut Diva today. I love this line by Crate Paper and since I have a boy, I have to use my nieces as subjects for this girly goodness :) The green and brown scallop circles are from Creative Cuts and More, and I think they add a lot with the scalloped edges without taking too much away from the pretty patterned paper.

The border across the bottom was made with the new lace tape from Love My Tapes. I LOVE this stuff and you get so much in the roll! The crepe is from Mon Ami Gabby and so much fun to work with too!
The Event ticket and the little pendants behind the doll are none other than The BEST from Ippity! My all time favorite stamp set that I am going to wear out soon :)

Birthdays Are The Best!

That's what I am trying to make myself believe as I quickly approach the big 4-0!!!  My husband surprised me the other day by telling me to pack my bag for this coming weekend! Him and I are going to New York City overnight to celebrate my big day and I could not be more excited or surprised! I am going to miss Luke, but it's only one night, he will survive (better than I will without him! LOL)
I have to admit, one of the first things I did was log on to my computer and map quest to see how far the hotel is from The Ink Pad! I know, a little obsessed, a little pathetic! LOL! But, the good news is, we are only 1.7 miles from the only stamping store in NYC! YAY! I've already mentioned to Neil that I want to pop in there! We'll see!
So, HERE'S where we are staying, it looks so sophisticated and posh, I guess I better shop for a new outfit this week!  Can't seem to find anything in my wardrobe that would blend in this scene!
Wish me luck finding something to wear! My almost 40-year old body isn't what it used to be and makes shopping depressing and difficult at times! Which reminds me of my never-ending resolution to lose weight-ugh! Okay, I am going to look on the bright side and think "sophisticated"! Maybe the right outfit will appear if I stay postitve~hey, a girl can dream, can't she?!?!

Friends WIth Flair

TGIF!

The sentiment on my card is from the Unity October 2010 Kit of the Month. I used some old Cosmo Cricket paper and Love My Tapes Fabric Sheets to die cut the trees. I cut the sentiment panel from my scalloped oval Nestabilities and underlined the sentiment with Recollections pearls.
The next stop on the hop today is Gwen, or stop by the Unity Blog later this morning to see the full list of Friends with Flair!

H{ippity} Hop

I broke out my Tim Holtz die and embossing folder for this card. The fabric sheets from Love My Tapes die cut so well with my Big Shot. The sentiment is from Ippity's Regal Greetings set. I decided on a whim to use the "Missing You" sentiment and didn't realize until it was all put together that the word GONE stood out so clearly in the text on the bird's body. No, I did not plan that~sometimes things just work out right!
Visit the Ippity blog for a full list of participants today or click here to visit JenMarie, I'm sure she has an awesome project to share with you today!

No Stamps

Two weeks ago I got an email from the folks at Love My Tapes asking me to make samples for their booth at CHA. So after the box FULL of goodies arrived at my door step, I made a ton of cards using their fabric tapes, fabric sheets and some sticker sheets.
I was stumped with the stickers, but was able to come up with "something" and was actually quite happy with the results. I thought I'd share those two cards today, hence my title, "No Stamps" as the images are cut out from their sticker sheets with no stamping.

My first card was inspired by a card on the cover of Papercrafts Magazine's latest issue. When I was trying to decide how to use this chair image, it popped into my head, so I cased that card idea. Although I am constantly online bloghopping and perusing Splitcoaststampers and Scrapbook.com, to me there is nothing like sitting down and paging through a magazine to be inspired!

Friends with Flair, All Things Unity, Ippity Challenge

Yup, a lot going on here today!

I made these two mini cards 3"x3" with Ippity sentiment stamps from Music of My Heart and Moonbeam & Heart Strings. These cards fit in with the Hippity Hop Twist Challenge IHHTC1 (color challenge~red, white, and blue) as well as the All Things Unity challenge ATU22 mini cards. The stars and hearts were made by lining a sheet of cardstock with Love My Tapes fabric tape, then cutting the shapes out with the smallest Nestability. So many fun ways to use this fabric tape!

For this next card, I used the rollerskate image and sentiment from Unity's Kit of the Month from May 2010. LOVE LOVE LOVE this image, I've been dying to use this one and just FINALLY got around to it and I am enjoying the final result! This was actually a sketch from a recent Papercrafts Magazine, but I apologize, I can't recall which one.
Thanks for coming by today! Make sure you visit the Unity blog later this morning for the full list of Hoppers today! or visit the very talented Joslyn, she's the next stop on the hop!

Today I have a mini book to share that still needs a few finishing touches and photos, of course!

The base of the mini book is a Sizzix die and the holly is die cut from Tim Holtz grungeboard paper, then sprayed with Smooch Spritz and stickled a bit with copper Stickles. I used Fancy Pants Tradition throughout my project, love this line!
Do you recognize this Christmas tree?! This is one of Unity's new Itty Bitty's, if you haven't checked these out yet, they are so cool! Great size stamp for a great price!

Another Unity stamp from one of my Kits of the Month (hmmm, can't remember which month it is!)
I made the flower from crepe paper and a Martha Stewart button punch, and finished off with some stickles and twine.

Some more crepe paper and Martha Stewart glitter, with a few Martha Stewart snowflakes punched and layered.

Fabric tape from Love My Tapes!

Another CUTE Itty Bitty by Unity! Gotta check em out at the new Unity website HERE! And if you didn't start out at the Unity blog, go -------->>> HERE to see a full list of Friends With Flair!
Happy Weekend!

Friday Friends With Flair

I love these chairs from Unity's September Kit of the Month, When I Am With You. So many options for them. This is the first time I inked them up and decided to make a Halloween card, but I have so many different ideas for year round use of this stamp!

This next card is also using two stamps from the September KOM. I never use navy blue so this is something a little different for me. I decided to get a little trendy with the "frame" *LOL*
I wasn't crazy about the outcome at first but it's starting to grow on me!
Thanks for stopping by today.
If you didn't start from the beginning, go to the Unity blog to check out the rest of the FWF hop participants. You don't want to miss all of the eye candy!

Self-Imposed Intervention

Welcome To My Unity Friends With Flair Post!
My card today ALMOST had October Afternoon Thrift Shop or Fly a Kite, BUT I forced myself to take a break from it as I was getting highly addicted! I kept staring at it, picking it up, touching it, but finally I told myself "STEP AWAY FROM THE OCTOBER AFTERNOON PAPER!" and grudgingly I listened!

I guess it wasn't so hard since I had a fresh new 6x6 pad of Cosmo Cricket Delovely to play with, so that softened the blow a bit!

I used my April Unity Kit of the Month and paper pieced the strawberry, then covered it with Alene's Paper Glaze. The little brown strip is from Bella Blvd and I used my Fiskar's Apron Lace punch for the decorative edge. I also used the pink gingham fabric tape from Love My Tapes (another new addiction-eep!) I had fun with this one and it was good to (temporarily) break my addiction with October Afternoon. Make sure to check out the list of everyone on the hop over at the Unity blog!

And if you would like to purchase some Ippity, click HERE for a big sale!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend everyone! Thanks for stopping by!

Hippity Hop with Fabric Tape

Hope it was a great weekend for you all! I went to the Scrapbook Expo in Somerset, NJ. It was like heaven! Scrapbooking and cardmaking supplies everywhere you turn! The guys from Love My Tapes had a booth there. I already LOVE their Washi Tape and adhesive and now they've added gorgeous new fabric tape to their store! See that pretty yellow gingham pleated ribbon on my card?! That is it! It's adhesive and so much fun to work with and they have it in all different colors and patterns! Check out their blog here---->> Love My Tapes.
For my card, I used one of the sentiments from Delightful Little Things that can be found for sale HERE! and some more of that beautiful October Afternoon paper from the Ippity paper pack for the Spring release.
Thanks for coming by, don't forget to go back to the
Ippity blog to see who else is hopping today!
Have a great week!

Tell Your Story

I took the plunge and signed up for the art journal class with Elsie and Rachel starting on April 26th.
I've never done an art journal, so I am pretty excited to learn something new and create outside of my comfort zone. Hopefully I will stick with it since I am famous for "unfinished projects". Call it busy, call it lazy, call it crafty A.D.D., whatever it may be I hope it doesn't strike this time! I really want to finish this one!
I have been wanting to jump on board the new trend of Japanese Masking tape, so I ordered some from our pal, Tak at Love My Tapes. I'm looking forward to receiving it and starting my two bonus pages of my art journal before the official start of the class on the 26th.
