Friends With Flair and the Shabby Tea Room

I submitted a card earlier this week to the Shabby Tea Room. I had so much fun with it that I made another one!  I guess I've been on a shabby chic kick lately. And tonight I decided to do some embossing on my card. I used the "My Heart Sings" stamp from the Unity May 2011 KOM with some Girls Paperie. The gingham paper for the card base is Amuse and I finished it off with some hand dyed seam binding, embroidery floss and a trinket pin that I made. (I hope it's not too far of a stretch to call the letter pebbles "buttons" to qualify for this challenge!)

Before you go~only a few more days until the June release from Ippity! All 5 kits have been revealed and you can pre-order now HERE! Shipping is included in all kit prices and you will also receive 12 6x6 papers with coordinating ribbon.

The Shabby Tea Room Challenge Week #54

Happy Memorial Day! I made a quick card for this week's Shabby Tea Room challenge #54, 2 patterned papers, 4 buttons and 6 layers, along with an inspiration photo.
Here is my card:

I used one gingham fabric button and three little white buttons, that I colored black with Copics. The paper is from the Girls Paperie and I used OLD Daisy D's rubon tape around the edges, love this stuff!

Here is the inspiration photo:

I drew my inspiration from the doilies and the pink and blue. I punched a doily from my PTI die and the cake ticket is from MadeByJanet on Etsy. You should check out her shop, it's gorgeous!

Thanks for stopping by today! Gotta run, I'm off to the beach!

A Shabby Challenge

One of the things I love about art is the fact that you can do WHATEVER you want, there are no RULES! Sometimes I am in the mood to create Clean and Simple cards, sometimes artsy, sometimes shabby. I don't find myself to have a particular style, but I do LOVE the look of shabby chic. I've been following the Shabby Tea Room blog for some time now, though I've onl.y participated in their challenge once. But this year I've vowed to participate in more challenges rather than just "lurking"!

So without further ado, here is my card for this week's challenge over at the Shabby Tea Room. ... the challenge-to create a card or project using WHITE AND/OR CREAM PLUS ONLY ONE ADDITIONAL COLOR

Thank your for stopping by today!
xx, Nora Anne
